Aimed towards promoting indigenous industries, the yearly Mentor-Matchup Challenge (MMC) is set for its fifth edition MMC 5.0. MMC, which is an initiative of mmc.234Finance.com, is designed to bridge practical knowledge gaps amongst African founders.

The yearly event that brings together active players who promote local content, capacity building and local production in key sectors of the economy is scheduled to take place on December 6, 2023 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
According to the organisers of the event, this year’s edition will feature 30 speakers, 300 delegates, 30 exhibitors, two keynote speeches, five panel discussions across six key sectors including Energy, Agribusiness, Trade & Retail, Manufacturing, Logistics & the Creative Industry.
Some of the speakers are: Julius Rone OFR – Group Managing Director, UTM Offshore Limited, Barr. Ngozi Ekeoma – Group Managing Director of Nepal Energies, Cecilia Umoren – Executive Chairman, Millenium Oil & Gas, Ejike Egbuagu – CEO of Moneda Invest, Michel Ussene – Chairman of Mitra Energy, Rabiu Umar – Group Sales and Marketing Director, Dangote Plc, Chijioke Dozie, Co-founder and CEO of Carbon, Aminu Nyako – Managing Director of Sebore Group, and Chioma Ude, Managing Partner of Lavida Studios, and others.
On the expectations from the oncoming event, Managing Partner of 234Finance, Ezinne Nwazulu, said: “MMC5.0 is targeted towards giving attendees insights on practical business strategies required to scale up their operations, give visibility to indigenous brands through the local content exhibition and ultimately help participants achieve personal/organisational objectives. Our mandate is to provide the support, tools and opportunities required to state, scale and manage African ventures.
“Our objective for this fifth edition is to aid critical thinking skills as well as business focus, promoting indigenous industries and production in Africa, giving entrepreneurs insights on how to build businesses that would outlive them; Creating networking opportunities for entrepreneurs to connect with clients, distributors, investors and other strategic partners and preparing delegates for important conversations that could transform their businesses.”
Nwazulu also revealed that MMC 5.0 is carefully curated to feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, intimate mentorship sessions, networking opportunities and local content exhibition. Our previous events combined, have featured 12 panel discussions, 18 intimate mentorship sessions and 18 pitching sessions where over $100,000 was disbursed to 12 winners in cash and consulting services over the years. We have witnessed businesses scale up their operations, improve their processes and increase their workforce after participating at our event and we would be showcasing some of the success stories from the previous participants at MMC5.0.”
