All is set for the third edition of The National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo, which will now hold on December 7 and 8, 2020, under the theme, Repositioning Tourism and Transportation Mobility and Connectivity to Revitalise the Economy.

This was announced in a release signed by the Lead, Main Organising Committee – NTTS 2020, Shettima Abdullahi FITP.

The Federal Government, in the drive to reposition the economy, approved during the 15th National Council on Transportation (NCT) meeting in Sokoto in August 2017, the collaboration of the Federal Ministry of Transportation and other Government and Non-Government agencies together with the private stakeholders across the transportation and allied industries, to work together to promote tourism and transportation owing to the importance of mobility and connectivity to national development and sustainability growth.

Abdullahi stated, “Over the past two years, the event has enjoyed a great participation of Ministries, Organisations and individuals within and outside the country from the tourism; travel, transportation and all related industries.

“The 3rd edition of the National Tourism Transportation Summit and Expo was earlier scheduled for 27 and 28 April, 2020, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to consequently reduce the risk of spreading the disease while complying with the government measures.”

He added, “The postponement provided opportunity for us to expand the involvement of more Federal, State Ministries and Agencies. We have 34 Federal Ministries and Agencies as members of the Inter-Ministerial organising committee.”

The SGF is expected to lead on the policy direction of the Federal government. In mass transportation, Minister of Transportation, Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi, with the support of the Minister of State for Transportation, Honourable Gbemisola Saraki will lead discussion, while the Honourable Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed will lead on the tourism and cultural sector.

Sirika will speak on the challenges, and progress of the Aviation Sector Road Map, while other sessions will include keynote presentations from Captains of Industry, Transportation and Tourism experts, lead specialists and National International Organizations, and Agencies under the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Information and Culture.

The 2020 edition will consist of various events, including Summit and Expo, Awards and Dinner/Gala Nite.
