Music Fashion Runway to honour industry legends

The ninth edition of Pan African Music Fashion Runway (MFR) slated for December 2 will honour legends in the industry, as part of its activities this year.

This year’s event, themed ‘Empowering the Creative/Corporate mix to align infrastructural development and growth in Creative and Entertainment sector’, through its Game Changer Africa Acknowledgement (GCAA) seeks to honour trailblazers for their significant contributions to the creative industry.

The Managing Director, MFR, Ngozi Omambala, said the event would also celebrate and showcase cultural heritage in Pan African arts, film, media, fashion and design.

According to her, the creative and entertainment sector has gone through seismic changes to become a force of nature. “Growth has been unprecedented, yet its infrastructure development lags behind, exposing weaknesses and vulnerabilities of young creatives seeking to carve out cares without support or protection.”

She added that the event would entail live music performance as well as international runway modeling.
“The show will also select two upcoming models that would be given an opportunity to kick start their modeling career by walking the MFR 2023 catwalk,” she added.

The Deputy President, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Gabriel Idahosa, commenting, said the entertainment industry represents one of the biggest and best opportunities in creating jobs for young people.

He said that LCCI is providing a platform to give young talents technical, management and financial empowerment needed for their upscaling.
