Unarguably one of the best decisions the duo have ever taken in their entire career, P-Square’s recent reunion has finally coalesced into two new records, a smash banger dubbed, Jaiye, and Find Somebody. While Jaiye revs as a celebratory anthem, Find Somebody charms as a love song, both records brimming with all the gusto, groove and glee of a typical P-Square record.

Born Peter and Paul Okoye, the twin brothers have long soared within the Nigerian music space, since the early 2000s, when they dropped their debut album dubbed, Last Nite, after winning the 2001 Grab The Mic competition. They honed their popularity through the years with five other iconic albums, several smash hit solos, and their enigmatic choreography, which lit up their stagecraft and music videos.

Prior their rocky split, in 2017, which saw them take up solo careers as Mr. P (Peter Okoye) and Rudeboy (Paul Okoye), P-Square were among Nigeria’s biggest musical exports across the entire world. Now, with their new records, P-Square takes another shot at the global limelight, hoping to seduce the present ‘Zoomers’ generation, who populate the global Afrobeats-leaning music audience, with the same magic of sonics and stagecraft that worked on the Millenials at the onset of their career.

In the TG Omori-directed video for Jaiye, P-Square is seen in their typical point of view of being surrounded by a large troupe of dancers. However, it might be Paul Okoye’s leg injury, which he sustained in Liberia early February, during their reunion tour, that might have prevented the duo from creating new dance moves within the video.

Nonetheless, for all it is worth, P-Square is back, and they seem to have squared the hits once again.

Jaiye and Find Somebody are out across all digital platforms.
