Prof Ibraheem delivers Unilag 2024/2025 fifth inaugural lecture on Wednesday

The University of Lagos fifth inaugural lecture for the 2024/2025 academic session will be delivered by Professor Ismail Adegboyega Ibraheem by 4pm on December 18, 2024 at the J.F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium of the university.

The lecture, titled: Casino Journalism and the End of History, holds special significance for the university’s Department of Mass Communication, because it is the first inaugural lecture of an alumni of the 58 years old department, aside it is the third inaugural lecture of the department.

Ibraheem is a professor of journalism and communication studies and Director of International Relations, Partnership and Prospects (IRPP) at the University of Lagos.

He is an innovative, dynamic and creative professional and international education practitioner with over 28 years of cross-functional and cross-sector local and international experience.

These experiences have led to an acquisition of skills in policy development and implementation, international relations, strategic and complex external relations management, development communication, media management, idea, human and financial resource management.

His academic experience includes undergraduate and postgraduate research supervision and mentoring of students who are now occupying important and strategic positions in both the industry and the academia.

He has made a difference in the various roles occupied over the years using the theory of change and proving the ability to develop programmes and organisations out of nothing.

Ibraheem is an astute manager, stewarding organisations, managing dynamic internal and external relations and making effective resourcing decisions to maximise impact.
