Seriki drops SakaManje video, features Reminisce
Sakamanje, which jumps on the Shaku Shaku trend was released towards the end of 2017, and had been a regular vibe at end of the year events and carnivals.
The Yoruba lyricist scored a banger with the new song even as Reminisce also delivered a solid verse.
The video, which was directed by Frizzle and Bizzle Films, captures the song accurately and it features cameo appearances from rave of the moment, Mr Real aka Legbgegbe master, who also produced the joint; Small Doctor, Oladips and actor Ijebu.
Seriki’s music adventure began when he was very young. While in secondary school, he started a group called The Amistad. The imperial Yoruba rap star, and self acclaimed street prophet and indigenous genius often spits fire with his music.
“It all began when I was very young, then I sings to myself. I never knew I would sing professionally, I was doing it then because I felt good whenever I sang. It was when I got into secondary school that I discovered I could not do without singing.
I won a couple competitions back then that gave me the confidence to move ahead. I was called by my surname, which I am stocked with till date,’ he said.
Asked what inspires his songs, the Agbalumo crooner said, “God has been a major source of inspiration to me. I am also inspired by my environment; the many things I see, hear and feel are mostly transcribed in my songs.”
Signed to Eedohwod Records, Seriki made his break in 2012, with release of Undisputed under the Alapomeji Records imprint, although there was no contract signed. He left label in 2013.
