It was a gathering of some of the biggest names in Nigeria’s entertainment scene at the recent premiere of the Greatiby Productions flick, African Messiah, in Lagos.

Shot in Nigeria, the movie serves as a clarion call for youths and their roles during electioneering processes. It follows the story of Chukwuma Amadi, played by rapper Speed Darlington, who is a youth presidential aspirant looking to change the status quo. His ambition is met with resistance so stiff that he opts to play the corrupt political elements at their own game, using their own tool.
Other than Speed Darlington, the premiere was graced by some heavyweights such as Nadia Buari,  Charles Okocha, Zlatan Ibile, Lasisi Elenu, among others.

Commenting on the movie, Executive Producer of African Messiah, Okwilague Shamac Ibrahim, said the release of the movie is timely, because it is coming at a time when Nigeria is entering another cycle of politicking.

Speaking at the premiere, Shamac noted that among its many themes, African Messiah cast a light on the use of social media as a tool of mass mobilisation and how despite its positive, it is also open to illicit use of social media, which mirrors his real lifestyle.
