The holy spirit led me to release Selense – Whitemoney
Following the footstep of past winners of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show such as Michael Ejeba, popularly known as Efe, and Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, professionally known as Laycon, BBNaija season 6 ‘Shine Ya Eyes’ winner, Hazel Onouduenyi, also known as White Money, has introduced himself to the music world with his debut single.
The MasterKraft-produced jam sheds light on the reality star’s grass to grace story. The song also sends emotional messages through its lyricism, making use of fans reactions when he was declared the winner of the reality show.
Speaking on the single, he said, “Selense is a banger. The audio and video of the song were dropped the same day. Selense is an inspirational song.
“I wrote the song when I was 18-year-old. Funny enough, I recorded it, but I didn’t release it to the market. It was on CD plate, but I burnt the 5,000 copies produced out of depression. I was new in Lagos then and had nobody. I have many songs, but I asked the Holy Spirit the song I should release first that will announce me to the world.”
He continued, “Pere was actually the person that helped determine the song to produce first. I sang it to him and Cross in the kitchen of Big Brother and they left, later, Pere was singing the song unconsciously and Cross came to me to tell me that Pere was singing my song so, that’s where I knew the song to put out. There’s a depth in the song. It tells the story of my life and transcends it to every person on earth.”
He describes his music style as “Cool United Melody! (CUM). Music to me is diverse. I can sing about women, love and every other thing, I think that’s what makes a good musician.”
Complemented by a video, Selense makes use of cutaways from events before, during and after White Money’s time in the BBNaija house.
