7Star Global conducts first C-check
Local maintenance facility, 7Star Global Hangar, has recorded a breakthrough in C-check services.
The feat was recorded following the successful completion of the maintenance services on the MD83 aircraft in the operations of Dana Air.
A C-check is one of the four main levels of routine maintenance for aircraft. A C-check covers the inspection, overhaul, repair, preservation and replacement of parts of the aircraft, including preventive maintenance. The service, which costs an average of $2million, has often been sourced overseas by local airlines.
7Star Global Hangar is the biggest independent Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) in sub–Saharan Africa in terms of capability and now primed to change the narrative.
Director of Business Development/Corporate Affairs, Sani Ahmadu, said 7Star Global Hangar, is committed to providing responsible, professional and premium quality aircraft maintenance services.
Ahmadu said the success was a great achievement for both 7Star Global Hangar and Dana Air in particular, and the country in general, as this will in turn reduce capital flight.
“With such collaborations, the industry will witness a cost-saving maintenance culture capable of sustaining airlines in Nigeria. Bigger thanks to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for their continued support and oversight throughout the project, ensuring that every task is carried out in accordance with the approved documentations,” he said.
