The Area Controller, Ogun 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comptroller Bamidele Makinde, and the Coordinator Roving B Team of Ogun 1 Area Command, Adamu Idris, have been honoured for their outstanding performance and dedication to anti-smuggling activities in the southwest region.
They received the Award of Excellence from the Crime Reporter Association of Nigeria (CRAN).
According to CRAN, Makinde was honoured for his exemplary dedication and leadership excellence as well as revenue generation in Zone A command, while Idris was recognised for his hard work and dedication to anti-smuggling duty.
CRAN noted that Idris has been actively involved in various roles within the Ogun 1 Area of the Nigeria Customs Service and has served as the patrol leader of the Customs Area Controller (CAC) Special Task Force Team A as well as the Coordinator of Roving A Team.
According to CRAN, Idris, who presently holds the position of Coordinator of the Roving B Team within the Ogun 1 Area command, has distinguished himself as the overall best-performing patrol leader in the command.
Also, during the monthly officers’ parade held at the Customs House, Idi-Iroko recently, the Customs Area Controller of Ogun 1 Command, presented an award of excellence to the Roving B team in recognition of the spectacular seizures made in June 2023 as well as their immense contribution to the anti-smuggling achievements.
