Group honours health workers, give nets to nursing mothers, others

Three members of staff of Ikoyi/Obalende Primary Health Center namely: Dr. Funke Aina, Philomina Ibude and Falilat Otunola have been honoured with plaques for standing out among other members of staff in the delivery of quality healthcare service.
  
This was done at the instance of Rotary Club of Dolphin Estate while carrying out its Vocational Service Award project for the month of January as well as execution of disease control and prevention project meant for the previous month.
  
The three awardees were selected on the basis of merit, one that stood tall and higher than their colleagues in their different fields. Speaking at the programme, the President of the club, Adeyanju Oyebola, said vocational service awards are carried out in different ways which include seminars, workshops or appreciation, adding that the club has deemed it fit to reward outstanding staff at the health centre that had been partnering with the club.

The President-elect, Esther Odo, who anchored the programme, said that the club contacted the Medical Officer of Health for the centre who doubles as the Director, Health Planning Research and Statistics for Lagos Health District 3 comprising Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki and Epe Local government and Local Council Development Area, Dr. Akintayo Adebayo for the nomination of the qualified awardees to motivate them and inspire others.
  
She added that in the execution of the second project, the club gave out 50 mosquito nets to nursing mothers, pregnant women and the aged as well as  talk on health issues by Dr. Akintayo Adebayo. She also said that others who did not get the nets that day would be given at a later date.
