Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, known popularly as Burna Boy, has surpassed four billion views on YouTube, becoming the first Nigerian and Sub-Saharan African artiste to hit the mark.

The feat was reported in connection with the combined views recorded on Burna Boy’s official YouTube channel, where his music videos have continued to attract audiences across the world.

In 2021, Burna Boy reportedly became the first Nigerian artiste to surpass one billion total views on the platform.

Burna Boy has also continued to make a strong impact globally, with five of the country’s biggest artistes recording at least 10 songs that have surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify across all credits.

According to the latest streaming figures, Burna Boy leads the pack with 23 songs crossing the 100 million-stream mark. Wizkid follows with 18 songs, maintaining his position among Nigeria’s most-streamed global stars.

Tems ranks third with 13 songs, while Asake has moved up to 11, making him the latest artiste to join the group with more than 10 songs above the milestone. Omah Lay completes the list with 10 songs surpassing 100 million streams.

The figures highlight the growing international reach of Nigerian music and the sustained streaming power of Afrobeats on major global platforms.

Burna Boy’s lead also underlines his remarkable consistency, with his tally standing five songs ahead of Wizkid and 10 ahead of Tems.

Asake’s rise to 11 songs further demonstrates the rapid growth of his catalogue, while Omah Lay remains firmly among Nigeria’s leading streaming acts despite sitting at the 10-song threshold.
