Lagos witnessed a dazzling fusion of premium entertainment music and sport on Sunday, May 3, as the Heineken House Experience delivered an unforgettable night of music, entertainment and immersive lifestyle experiences, with performances from Darey Art Alade, Ayo Makun and Johnny Drille stealing the spotlight.
Tagged, “A Day With Thibaut, and held at the scenic Ilubirin, Lagos waterfront, the high-energy event drew celebrities, influencers, music lovers and sports enthusiasts for a unique fusion of live entertainment, Formula 1 action, UEFA Champions League excitement and the unveiling of Heineken’s striking Hot Air Balloon experience.
The event marked the official launch of the Heineken House Experience, a multi-day activation curated to give consumers a premium blend of sport, music, social connection and elevated lifestyle experiences, setting the tone for what promises to be one of Lagos’ biggest entertainment events of the season.
Hosted by entertainer cum musician Darey Art Alade, the event combined elegance with excitement as guests enjoyed orchestral performances, immersive installations and live sporting moments in a stylish atmosphere.
Guests were welcomed with a stirring orchestral performance before the Corporate Affairs Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Uzo Odenigbo, introduced the vision behind the Heineken House Experience, describing it as a celebration of entertainment, sports culture and immersive fan engagement.
The evening opened with the unveiling of the iconic Hot Air Balloon by the Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Thibaut Boidin, setting the tone for a night defined by spectacle and vibrant energy timed around the UEFA Champions League semi-finals and the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
In his address, Boidin described the experience as a celebration of Nigeria’s dynamic youth culture and growing influence in global entertainment. He added that the initiative was designed to create immersive experiences that connect consumers through music, sports and shared moments.
“The Heineken House Experience is especially meaningful to us because Nigerian consumers are true global trendsetters. Hosting this in Nigeria reflects both who Nigerians are and how important this market is to us.
“We wanted to deliver something exceptional—an experience that matches that energy and influence. That’s why we curated a full-scale lineup, from the Hot Air Balloon experience to Formula 1 racing moments and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. Our goal was to create something bold, immersive, and truly unforgettable for Nigerians,” he said.
The entertainment lineup delivered nonstop excitement throughout the night. Comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, brought humour and spontaneity to the stage with a lively performance that kept the audience entertained with a standout comedy set, while the LOUD Urban Choir delivered a powerful musical set that elevated the evening’s atmosphere.
The energetic Awanjo dancers thrilled attendees with an electrifying cultural performance, while the LOUD Urban Choir added a rich musical layer to the evening before fans turned their attention to the live screening of the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. Guests enjoyed curated meals and chilled drinks while soaking in the high-energy race atmosphere.
One of the night’s biggest highlights came when Johnny Drille stepped on stage to perform some of his hit songs. His soulful vocals and emotionally charged performance drew loud cheers from guests, creating one of the most memorable moments of the event.
The celebration closed with a lively set from Darey Art Alade, while Marketing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Sarah Agha, thanked guests for being part of what she described as a bold new entertainment
experience.
