Earlier in the week, Afro pop star, Davido, stirred the hornet’s nest when he reportedly warned potential foreign investors not to even think of coming into Nigeria to invest claiming the nation’s economy was in ‘shambles’. That was fair enough, Nigeria has been going through a lot of economic challenges for years now, but that coming from a Davido whose father has a multi-billion dollar investment in the country, his uncle, a sitting Governor of a state and the artiste with a legion of endorsements from several big brands in the economy that is in ‘shambles’ is a huge embarrassment to his brand image. The day Davido decided to be involved in politics (which is okay), he started behaving and speaking like a politician instead of a music star.

Anyway, Nollywood legend, Patrick Doyle may have had the right response to his infantile outburst. Hear Mr. Doyle: “You have to be incredibly d**se (that word is redacted intentionally) to ask foreigners not to visit a country where your father has a $2 billion dollar power generation investment. Some persons ought to know much better.”

Demarketing Nigeria among the music and even movie stars as well as other celebrities is now a fad thing. They proudly do it daily in videos they post online and now that podcasts are the craze, they use that medium frequently. To these crop of young people, it makes them cool and they are hailed by this Soro Soke and #EndSARS generation that has sworn never to see anything good about Nigeria until the government of the day pays them money every week while they remain at home ‘pressing’ their phones. What they don’t know is that, foreigners also watch these denigrating videos about Nigeria, and it is the name you call your dog that your neighbour will call it. So, for those calling Nigeria a ‘zoo’, that is what their neighbours will call her.

T4T had advised Davido in the past to always think before he speaks or writes on social media. The young man may be losing it and the funniest thing is; he thinks he will reign, musically, forever. He should ask where Felix Liberty, Jide Obi, Alex O, Alex Zitto, Chris Okotie, Orits Wiliki and even Daddy Showkey or Dbanj (of yesterday) all are. Most of these artistes were kings even before his mother conceived him.

That Very Disturbing Video

A VIDEO emerged some couple of days ago of some students in a school dining hall ( that was what T4T called it during his days) eating a pathetic meal of ‘eba’ and what could not pass for a soup. It was later gathered that the school was the Presbyterian Senior Science College, Ididep, somewhere in Akwa ibom state or so. First, T4T would like to commend the school authorities on the quantity of the ‘eba’; that size for a student, in this economy, was massive, but what would anyone call that watery thing, soup? No! Have you watched an American film where some American soldiers were captured in a Vietnam prison? That was the kind of soup they are always served and that was exactly what came to T4T’s mind when he saw the video. As bad as Nigerian prisons are depicted, T4T does not think that kind of soup is served to inmates. There was not even a fish’s fin, so we should not talk about some flesh, in any of the student’s metal bowl. And what kind of a dining hall was that? In the 80s when T4T was in that kind of environment, our dining hall was like a buffet lounge of a two star hotel presently. That place looked like a goats’ shed.

Where is the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, or any other minister in charge of such matters? The human rights of those students have been brutally attacked by that school authorities.

What Police Should Do To ‘Akpi’ This Time Around

SPEED Darlington, aka Akpi, has been rearrested. This time, it is not clear if it was at the instance of music star, Burna Boy, who was behind the first arrest. But of a truth, e reach to arrest Akpi again and again even if na Burna Boy dey run am.

After his release the last time, Akpi has not allowed Burna Boy to drink water and drop cup, literally. Every other day, he was busy releasing videos online tearing into the Grammy award winner, insinuating different unprintable things. The entire country practically prevailed on Burna Boy to let him off the hook when he was first arrested after he tried to link the star to American superstar, P Diddy’s travails in some unsavoury way, you no na…

Well, it is not clear if Burna Boy is behind this fresh arrest, but if he is, then maybe, the police should take Akpi to court which is the only place with the powers to rein him in and shut his loud mouth he uses to spill very ugly things about others.
