Born and raised in the heartland of Benue State, Gideon Kernen Uzu, a multifaceted talent brings a fresh and dynamic approach to music, blending the infectious rhythms of Hip Hop, Trap, Rap, and Afro beat to create a genre-defying sound that is his own.
“Geedy NeverGoingBroke” is my stage name, (fka Geedy WayneNGB) and I was born in a small town called Gungul (Gun Town), in Konshisha LGA, Benue State. I’m based in Lagos State and as a musician, I get to work on different projects, E-commerce, Logistics for example,” he tells us.
With a magnetic stage presence and an undeniable gift for music, this rising star has already captivated audiences with his debut single, titled ‘S3x Talks’ under the artist name Geedy WayneNGB. He has also released a mesmerizing cover of a popular hit, DJ Khaled’s ‘God Did’ which is only available on Audio Mack, both of which have been met with resounding praise from listeners.
Speaking in a recent interview, he took us hrough his journey as an independent artists. “I started making music at a very young age when I used to freestyle with my friends on the streets. I was just doing some freestyle records and was not really serious with it until last year. I’m not yet deeply into the music industry as I’m an upcoming artist, but I look forward to growing as time goes on. I’m an independent artist so I do most of the work myself and the little assistance I got from friends and family to help me promote my craft,” he narrates.
As an independent artist, he has exhibited remarkable determination, resilience, and vision in carving out his unique musical path. Drawing inspiration from musical legends and contemporary icons alike, his influences are diverse, yet he has managed to craft an original and authentic sound that is unmistakably his own.
“I have a melodic and hardcore kind of vibe, I just do my thing. I’m special and unique because I’m me, I do me, and I can’t do better than me. I believe I’m a good influence to a lot of people and I’ve also been influenced by a lot of artists like Lil Wayne, NLE Choppa, Youngboy, Davido, Wizkid etc,” he says.
Having garnered significant attention with just a single and a cover, anticipation is already building for what this talented artist will unveil next. As he continues to create and release new music, the world can expect a wave of innovative and powerful tracks that will cement his place among Nigeria’s musical names.
