Actress Chioma Umeala will on Tuesday, November 30, make a comeback to BET daily drama, Isono, retaining her role as Ayo, Pastor Abiola and Titi’s headstrong daughter.

Playing the role, Umeala embodies the grace and grit of a determined young woman who has been dealt many wrong hands, but fights to rise above unfair circumstances.

As a rebel who constantly challenges her parents, especially when it comes to her father’s reliance on faith to heal all ills, Ayo is romantically involved with Gabriel Ndlovu and fans should expect to see a lot on this relationship as she rejoins the show.

Speaking about her role, Umeala said, “I am excited for the opportunity to get back into this role again. Ayo’s character is one I connect with deeply and mirrors my personal journey in many ways.

“Like me, Ayo is a strong-willed woman who always stands up for what she believes is right, even if it means creating tension. I am glad that through this character, I get to inspire many young black women and artistes like me to rise above life’s challenges, focus on their craft and go for their dreams wholeheartedly.”

Commenting on the development, Senior Vice President and GM ViacomCBS Networks Africa, Monde Twala said, “Chioma brought a burst of energy and colour to Isono’s drama during her debut.”

Airing Monday to Thursday on BET Africa (DStv Channel 129, GOtv Channel 21) at 20:30 WAT and 21:30 CAT, Isono is a BET original daily drama series produced by Clive Morris Productions and features a star-studded cast of incredible talent, such as Nthati Moshesh, Moshidi Motshegwa, Bohang Moeko, Senzo Radebe, Anga Makhubalo and Nigerian actors Fabian Adeoye, Anthony Oseyemi, Christine Osifuye and Chioma Umeala.
