Social media has erupted with criticism against former record label boss EezeeTee, with fans accusing him of allegedly withholding royalty payments from multiple artists under his label.

The controversy gained traction on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, as the hashtag #ExposeEezeeTee began trending. Many music enthusiasts called for greater transparency in royalty distribution, urging the record label executive to “allow artistes to breathe.”

A user, @Kola_wire, accused EezeeTee of mishandling financial settlements, writing: “People like EezeeTee are many in the music industry. He needs to change and settle all the rifts he has with his artistes.”

Another, @Faizah7__, criticised the alleged exploitation of artists, stating: “Exploiting artistes needs to stop. Record label owners must be accountable for all their artistes’ royalties. Seeing @EeZeeGlobal accused of exploiting Mercy Chinwo saddens my heart. This must stop.”

@tweetsbyife echoed the sentiment, calling for an investigation: “I am of the opinion that @EeZeeGlobal needs to be investigated. He has to stop denying his artistes their royalties. They deserve better.”

Meanwhile, @Mukyaalaj referenced claims by YouTuber BeingReal George, who alleged that EezeeTee engaged in unethical practices, including withholding royalties and controlling artists’ careers.

The backlash follows an ongoing dispute between EezeeTee and gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, with fans closely watching for further developments.

The Guardian made attempts to reach out to EezeeTee for his side of the story but calls and messages went unanswered before we went to press.
