Wyclef Jean, Choc Boyz to headline Jos Music Festival

In its usual end-of-year style, the chilly city of Jos, is set to light up once again with an electrifying music festival running from December 31 to January 1, 2024 at the prestigious Crest Hotel grounds. And after a decade since his last performance in Nigeria, multiple Grammy-winning Haitian legend Wyclef Jean is set to headline the annual music festival this year.

Organised by TASCK, MI Abaga’s creative agency, the festival christened International Music Festival (IMF) 2024, will showcase a dynamic lineup of performers from the city including J-town bred legends Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and MI Abaga himself.

The festival debuts on New Year eve at Crispian Hotel, with a riveting panel session for visionary discussions on collaborative opportunities to harness collective creativity for impactful change, the organisers have said. The session will also feature a keynote address from Wyclef Jean.

The festival wraps up on New Year day with a soul-stirring gospel music show, dubbed Daylight Devotion, featuring a line-up of gospel artists and speakers earlier in the day. And as the sun sets, the festival is expected to crescendo into the closing concert with Wyclef Jean, Choc Boyz, and other supporting acts.

This would also mark a coming-of-age reunion for the Choc Boyz trio who all started their music careers from the now restive city.

“We’re thrilled to bring back the Incredible Music Festival this year, and we are excited by all the possibilities of collaborations we are creating with the networking events,” remarked William Moore, a spokesperson at TASCK noted. “IMF aims not just to entertain, but also to inspire, connect, and showcase the immense talent within the host and neighbouring communities. For us, charity really begins at home.”
