Sugar rush 2016: A fusion of beauty and excellence

The city of Lagos was lit up last week as Sugar Rush, an offshoot of Sugar Weddings and Parties breathed life and glamour into wedding planning and events. Held at the grand ballroom of Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos, over 40 vendors, planners and organizers showed off the cream of the crop in events planning and decoration, catering, clothes, jewellery and shoes, party favours and a host of other services.

The luxury wedding and lifestyle event was hosted in partnership with the hotel, Taittinger Champagne, SaraO Events and Aralia By Nature. Comedienne and entertainer Chigul was the event compere and she kept guests entertained an engaged throughout, doling out gifts and giveaways to engaged couples.

Lucky couples won a bridal makeover from the House of Tara, a wedding dress by Wendy’s Bridal, a bridal bouquet from Aralia By Nature, a jewellery set from Leries Accessories, premium champagne from Taittinger and the star prize, which was won by a lucky couple voted for by the audience- two round trip tickets to Dubai for their honeymoon.

The excitement went up several notches when Wande Coal took to the stage, serenading guests with back-to-back hits and women were sent into a frenzy, singing and dancing along to his songs. VIP guests mingled in an elegant lounge styled by SaraO Events and Aralia By Nature, where they enjoyed premium complimentary champagne and tasty canapés.

The expert exhibitor line-up included wedding planners, decorators, caterers, wedding cakes, dresses and more. Tarebi Alebiosu, SWP founder told The Guardian, “Our online platform www.sugarweddings.com presents many opportunities for event professionals and consumers to connect because for a lot of users there are still elements of distrust, so Sugar Rush is a great extension to our online platform, providing consumers with the perfect opportunity to fully experience what event professionals have to offer”.

The event was one to savour and Alebiosu has promised that it wont be the last of its kind as they intend to make it a regular affair and take it to other cities as well.
