Team Hurricanes champions of 2023 MSPL

Speaking at the end of the Mindgames Scrabble Premier League, where Hurricanes claimed the Division A title at the Golf View Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, at the weekend, Adowei said the presence of more young players in this year’s MSPL league shows that the sport has created a platform capable of engaging youths in productive venture that can lift them to stardom.The MSPL Scrabble Premier League is a commendable initiative, which more youths should key into. It would help reduce social vices in the country, just as playing at the competitive level has created opportunity for the youths to earn money,” he said.

Adowei urged more corporate bodies and individuals to sponsor the sport to maintain the country’s position as one of the best in scrabble, globally.

At the end of the final 19 rounds of games on match days four and five, D’Warriors claimed the Division B title to gain promotion to the elite level. Team Hurricane won N1.5 million and a golden trophy for their victory in Division A .
