Beauty Ogere Siasia, the 76-year-old mother of former Super Eagles striker, and Coach, Samson Siasia has been kidnapped again, the second time in four years.

Unidentified armed men allegedly took her away yesterday from her home in Odoni, Sagbama Local Council of Bayelsa State.

Madam Beauty Ogere Siasia was first kidnapped in November 2015 and was released 12 days after.

Mr. Dennis, the younger brother to Samson Siasia, who confirmed the abduction of their 76-year-old mother, said the kidnappers whisked away from their aged mother without taking along her Blood Pressure (BP) drugs and mobile phone.

The incident, which occurred during the early hours yesterday, shook the community as two other women were also kidnapped.

Mr. Siasia noted that the inability of their mother to remember phone numbers off-hand might have slowed down contacts from her abductors since she was taken away without her phone.

“Yes, the abductors have not contacted the family. We have reported to the Police. She was taken away without taking along her drugs. Even if they ask her for our numbers, she would not be able to help because she cannot recall mobile numbers. We are full of prayers and hoping she would be released soon,” he said.

The activities of suspected kidnappers between the Agbere and Odoni area of Sagbama have been worrisome with the abduction of the father of businessman and owner of Stop Ova, a popular hang out in the state capital.

Indigenes of the community, who spoke with The Guardian, said aside from Siasia’s mother, two other women were also abducted, including the mother of the owner of a Local Mortuary Services firm in the area known as “Do NaNa”.

Confirming the incident, the Bayelsa State Police Command spokesman, Asinim Butswat said the Commissioner of Police and the command’s Tactical Team have visited the scene of the crime.

Butswat added that the command in collaboration with other security stakeholders have launched a manhunt to apprehend the kidnappers and rescue the victims as the investigation is ongoing.

He said, “On July 15, 2019 at about 0200hours, unknown gunmen who were heavily armed came through the waterways of the River Nun and invaded the residence of one Mrs. Beauty Siasia, ‘f’ 80 years in the riverine village of Odoni, Sagbama Local Government Area, Bayelsa State and whisked her away through the waterways to an unknown destination.

“The command in collaboration with other security stakeholders has launched a manhunt to apprehend the killers and rescue the victim Investigation is ongoing.”
