The world’s leading 100 metres hurdlers, including Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan, Ditaji Kambundji and Masai Russell are set to clash at the third leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League in Xiamen, China.

The race will involve the reigning Olympic, world and Diamond League champions and the current outdoor and indoor world record holders, who will all go head-to-head in the women’s 100m at the third leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League in Xiamen, on May 23.

With six of the world rankings top ten in action, the race will be an early-season test of form in what is currently one of the most competitive and unpredictable disciplines in athletics.

Reigning world champion Kambundji will be among the favourites in one of her first Diamond League races since sweeping to a surprise gold in Tokyo, last year.

She will face the toughest of tests in U.S.’s Olympic champion, Russell, who broke the Diamond League record with 12.19 in Silesia last season.

Reigning Diamond League champion Ackera Nugent of Jamaica will also be looking to get her title defence off to a winning start, six months after claiming her first Diamond Trophy in Zurich.

The field also includes two world record holders in Amusan and Devynne Charlton.

Amusan is the fastest woman in history over 100m hurdles with 12.12 and a three-time Diamond League champion, while Charlton is the indoor world record holder in the 60m.

The 100m hurdles is the latest in a string of world-class fields announced for Xiamen, with global champions and world record holders also set to compete in the men’s 5000m, men’s 400m, women’s 1500m and men’s 100m.

Xiamen is the third leg of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League, which begins in Doha on May 8 and ends at the two-day series final in Brussels, on September 4 and 5.

The series unites the biggest names in track and field in some of the world’s most iconic arenas, crossing four continents and 15 cities over the course of the season.
