Bank vows continuous support for Nigerian sports

Lead sponsor of the just-concluded 22nd National Sports Festival in Ogun State, Premium Trust Bank, has promised to continue championing a future where Nigerian sports soar and every dream finds wings.

The Managing Director/CEO of Premium Trust Bank, Emmanuel Efe Emefienim, made the declaration during the closing ceremony at MKO Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta.

“As we bid farewell to this festival, let us celebrate the victories, the bonds forged, and the lives transformed,” he told the athletes, their officials, and the spectators. “Two weeks ago, we opened this festival, with a vibrant celebration of talent, unity, and national pride. Today, as we draw the curtains on this historic edition, we reflect on a journey marked by fierce competition, remarkable achievements, and the unyielding spirit of our athletes. Over 10,000 athletes from across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, alongside Junior Athletes, have competed and showcased excellence that inspires us all.”

Speaking further, Emefienim said: “At Premium Trust Bank, we are unwavering in our commitment to sports as a catalyst for transformation. As the lead sponsor of this landmark event—we are passionate architects of a brighter future for Nigeria’s youth. Our resolute dedication to empowering young talents through sports is unshakable, ensuring they shine on national and global stages.

“To the good people of Ogun State, we have introduced Blayzz, our innovative digital platform, to simplify financial access, enabling seamless transfers, bill payments, and installment plans at no cost, empowering you to achieve your dreams alongside these athletes. This aligns with our mission to transform lives, foster unity, and build a sustainable
Nigeria,” he said.

Emefienim commended President Bola Tinubu, who was represented at the occasion by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, for his exemplary leadership and steadfast support for initiatives that uplift Nigeria’s youth and promote national unity.

“Your presence here tonight underscores the importance of collective efforts in transforming lives through sports. I also applaud Governor Dapo Abiodun, and the Ogun State Government for hosting a world-class festival. The MKO Abiola Stadium, Alake Sports Centre, and the Olympic-style Games Village at Babcock University have set a global standard. My gratitude goes to the National Sports Commission, led by Mallam Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olopade, for their commitment to fairness and integrity, ensuring every medal reflects true honor.
