African gaming and entertainment platform, BetKing, has launched a television platform as part of its contributions to the development and promotion of sports in Nigeria. The company has also promised an increased investment in sports to aid the sector’s rapid growth.

Speaking during the launch of BetKing TV, a new content platform that marks its expansion from sports gaming into sports, entertainment, and culture, the outfit reaffirmed its position as one of the chief supporters of sports development in the country.

BetKing, which has a partnership with Ikorodu City FC in its third consecutive year, noted that in addition to team sponsorship, it has invested in infrastructure, notably commissioning a modern mini sports complex in Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos, to serve the local community and football ecosystem.

The firm said that the launch of the BetKing TV initiative is part of the company’s efforts to bring sports closer to the people and grassroots communities.

Speaking on the initiative, Head of Marketing at BetKing Nigeria, Nengi Akinola, said: “Innovation has always been at the heart of everything we do at BetKing, from how we engage audiences through localised online gaming products like Danfo Lagos, JJBallX, and Chicken Keke, to how we connect with fans digitally and culturally. BetKing TV is a natural evolution of that journey. We are creating a platform that not only follows conversations but also helps shape them, giving our audience content that feels authentic, entertaining, and truly reflective of their world.”

She added: “BetKing TV marks a shift in the brand’s engagement strategy, moving beyond transactional interactions to deeper cultural relevance and participation. The YouTube platform aims to serve as a hub for ongoing and emerging conversations around sports, entertainment, and lifestyle in Nigeria.

“This launch follows significant investment in original content production, talent development, and digital distribution, reinforcing BetKing’s long-term commitment to leadership in sports and culture.”

Denari said that “fans should expect football banter at its best, exciting football conversations, and plenty of fun and laughter while watching. We are ready for the fans.”

She disclosed that through initiatives such as Danfo Lagos, JJ BallX, and Chicken Keke, the platform has redefined how brands engage audiences by blending sports, entertainment, and culture.

The platform debuts on YouTube with three original shows featuring former Big Brother Naija housemates, each targeting different segments of Nigeria’s youth audience.

Banter FC, hosted by Unekwuojo Godswill Ameh, known as Kulture and Arinze Ekwenem, known as Denari, highlights the humour and passion of football discussions. K’s Kourt, hosted by Kayode Oladele, known as Kaybobo, provides multi-sport analysis across basketball, UFC, Formula 1, tennis, and more. Playing Games, hosted by Doris Okorie and Nicole Simon-Ogan, simply known as Gigi Jasmine, Kaybobo, focuses on lifestyle, trending topics, and youth culture.
