Chelsea linked with summer transfer move for Boniface
Premier League giants, Chelsea, have identified Bayer Leverkusen Nigerian striker Victor Boniface as a target in the summer.
According to German media outfit, Bild, via ESPN, Boniface, who is currently injured, has a transfer valued at €40 million, given he has a contract until 2028.
Chelsea have been linked with Boniface’s Nigerian teammate, Victor Osimhen, but Serie A champions Napoli, want his €130 million release clause paid in full.
The reigning African Player of the Year showed his potency in front of goal, as he netted Napoli’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League round of 16 first leg clash.
Boniface has scored 10 goals and provided seven assists in 16 games in the Bundesliga this season.
The 23-year-old did not feature at the AFCON 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire due to injury.
Also, he remains a doubt for the Super Eagles’international friendly game with Argentina on March 26 in Los Angeles, USA.
