Chelsea has been the busiest of the Premier League clubs in this summer’s transfer window. The Blues have completed the signings of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr, Thiago Silva, and Kai Havertz and are still eyeing more deals, while a number of players have been put up for sale.

They are set to take their summer spending to close to the £250 million marks with the addition of Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, reports talksport.com.

An agreement between the two clubs is understood to be drawing closer after the Blues had a recent offer worth £14 million rejected by the French side.

Mendy only joined Rennes from Stade Reims for £3.5 million last year, but the 28-year-old has already made a big impact at the club and is set to cost Chelsea around £18m.

The imminent transfer will spark more speculation regarding Kepa Arrizabalaga’s long-term future at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, it is understood that Chelsea could recoup some money by selling Ross Barkley.

Lampard is willing to cash in on the former Everton midfielder if the right offer comes in.

Atalanta is also reportedly in talks with Chelsea to re-sign Davide Zappacosta on loan.

The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour in west London and the right-back will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Sky Sport Italia claim that the Serie A side wants to be reunited with Zappacosta, albeit only for the short-term as things stand.
