Directors of Sports from all states of the federation are expected to storm Asaba, Delta State capital tomorrow for the National Council Meeting. Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is expected to inaugurate members of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 21st National Sports Festival, tagged Asaba 2022.

Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, Tonobok Okowa told The Guardian yesterday that the two-day event in Asaba would also witness the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports Development and Delta state government for the hosting of Asaba 2022 National Sports Festival.

According to him, arrival is tomorrow, while activities, including technical meeting, will hold on Monday, December 20.

The LOC for Asaba 2022 National Sports is headed by the Secretary to Delta State Government and former hockey player, Chief Patrick Ukah, while the Chairman of Delta Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa, is the co-chairman.

Vice President of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and former President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), Chief Solomon Ogba, is the Adviser. Former Sports Commissioner in Ogun State, Bukola Olopade, former Director-General, Delta Sports Commission, Victor Onogagamue, former swimming coach, Steve Onyeacholam, Ademola Are and former long jumper, Yusuf Alli, are members of the LOC.
