Former Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and one time Flying Eagles coach, Tunde Disu has been selected to lead the ‘2017 Elderly Walk for Life and Fitness exercise’ scheduled to hold in Lagos.

The event organised by the Charity Organisation for Welfare of Aged People (COWAP) and Guarantee Trust Bank (GTB) is slated for Thursday with the flag off at 7.00 a.m. from Apongbon, Lagos Island.

Addressing newsmen ahead of the event, Founder of COWAP and Project Director, Mr. Esan Olusola noted that it was necessary to ensure that elders keep fit through the walk in order to stay healthy.

“It is part of the mission of the organisation to get the elderly informed about their health and wellbeing. We are committed to all activities that empower the elderly and give them the opportunity to be in charge of their life even at old age.

“We, however, urge all senior citizens in Lagos Island and the environs to keep a date with Coach Tunde Disu and COWAP for the most memorable,” he said.

Olusola further commended‎ Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s administration for his support and decision to host the event.

“Governor Ambode in his effort to alleviate suffering of Lagosians is always at the forefront welcoming ideas and impactful developments in term of infrastructures and health delivery to residents,” he added.
