Don’t rock Eagles’ Russia 2018 boat, Egbe urges stakeholders

Chief Executive Officer of stadium construction outfit, Monimichelle, Ebi Egbe has appealed to football stakeholders in the country to be on same page and rally round the present board led by Amaju Pinnick ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Chief Executive Officer of stadium construction outfit, Monimichelle, Ebi Egbe has appealed to football stakeholders in the country to be on same page and rally round the present board led by Amaju Pinnick ahead of the Russia 2018 World Cup.

Egbe, who spoke at the weekend, said this is not the time for anybody or group to distract the board, adding that genuine stakeholders would throw their weight behind the board and ensure that the Eagles have a successful World Cup campaign.

“Pinnick and the present board did well to qualify the country for the Russia 2018 World Cup against all odds, even when we were drawn into what easily passed for a very tough group. We were equally drawn into a tough group in the World Cup proper.

‘The NFF has since drawn up a solid programme ahead of the Mundial. If we go into the World Cup as members of one family, the Eagles would succeed. This is not a time for any form of crisis. It is not a time to play dirty politics that could distract the board,” Egbe said.

The FIFA match agent commended the NFF for ensuring that all the international friendlies lined up for the Eagles have so far been played, stressing that Coach Gernot Rohr and his boys must ensure they put up a good show against England at the Wembley Stadium on June 2.

“If we get a good result against England, it would be a huge morale booster for the battle proper in Russia,” Egbe said.
