It was fun and camaraderie on Tuesday as the retiring Director General, Delta State Sports Commission, Festus Ohwojero, was given a resounding send-forth with a football game organised by a committee of friends.
The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Mr Onoriode Oborevwori, led a team of ex-footballers that played against the opposing side. Ohwojero, whose tenure as Director General of Delta Sports Commission witnessed a major turn-around with athletes and coaches getting their due, was felicitated by members of his family, friends, well-wishers and staff of the commission.
He served for 35 years, having joined Delta Sports Council from the old Bendel State. Some athletes and officials, who spoke with The Guardian, yesterday, described Ohwojero as the best DG the Commission ever had.
