Nigeria’s U-17 national team coach, Manu Garba has revealed that he is building a formidable squad ahead of the 18th U-17 World Cup scheduled for Brazil from October 26 to November 17.

According to the Golden Eaglets manager, the Nigeria cadet team, who just returned from a UEFA/CAF U-17 tournament in Turkey, are 100 percent focused on a good outing at the World Cup.He said the team would continue their series of training for the championship, adding that the tournament in Turkey exposed his boys to the atmosphere they would encounter in Brazil.

“The team will soon travel to Sao Paulo, Brazil for acclimatization and final phase of preparation for the World Cup. The players are in high spirit and ready for battle and our preparations are in top gear,” he said.24 teams from six confederations will compete in the biennial world championship in three Brazil cities with four venues.The Nigerian team will battle Hungary in their World Cup opener on October 26, while host Brazil will meet Canada the same day.
