Enyimba of Aba and Akwa United, yesterday, recorded impressive away victories in the mid-week fixtures of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day Eight, played across the country.

Playing at their Lafia Township Stadium, Nasarawa United suffered a 1-2 defeat against Enyimba, while Akwa United also shocked their hosts, Adamawa United 1-0 at the Pantanmi Stadium, Gombe.

In the other fixtures, Kano Pillars playing at home at the Sani Abacha Stadium secured a comfortable 2-0 win over visiting Jigawa Golden Stars, while Wikki Tourist beat MFM FC 2 – 0 at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium.

It was a awful defeat for visiting Sunshine Stars, as they succumbed to the firepower of Abia Warriors 1-4 at the Enyimba Township Stadium, while the game between Kwara United and Lobi Stars ended 2 – 1 in favour of the hosts at Kwara Sports Stadium, Ilorin, Kwara State.

Dakkada also was inflicted a heavy 0-3 defeat on the road in the hands of Enugu Rangers while Warri Wolves FC pipped the NPFL defending champions, Plateau United, 1 – 0 at the Ozoro Township Stadium.
