Bruno Fernandes has agreed personal terms with Manchester United. The clubs now just need to agree a fee for the player, with Jorge Mendes set to present a proposal to Sporting Lisbon after he attended United’s FA Cup clash with Wolves.

Sportsmail understands Fernandes has agreed a contract worth around £130,000-a-week with the Old Trafford side. Agent Jorge Mendes was spotted at Old Trafford on Wednesday night. It is also understood that United will be offering £50million plus £10m in add-ons to sign Fernandes in the January window, and this could be enough to push through his move.

Fernandes is likely to bid farewell to Sporting Lisbon in their derby against Benfica today evening ahead of his move to United. According to Portuguese outlet Record, he will then travel to England. He is expected to be in the crowd when United face fierce rivals Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

His manager Silas confirmed yesterday that he would play barring a ‘disaster’: ‘The only certainty I have is that Bruno will be there [at the derby]. We prepared the game with Bruno and he trained very well, as always.“He’s the best player in the league and the most valuable since last year. He’s not worth this money, he’s worth so much more. In addition to attacking he also sacrifices himself to defend.

“Bruno is the best and the most valuable. When we have such a player it’s normal for everyone to want him. Only if there’s a disaster he won’t be there.’A deal for the 25-year-old was almost completed last week when director and former Newcastle player Hugo Viana travelled to England but Mendes has been tasked with getting the deal over the line. The Maia-born central midfielder then joined Sporting in 2017 and has gone on to make 81 league appearances for them, scoring 39 goals.
