Flying Eagles Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, is optimistic that his team will come out victorious in the 2017 African U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan on Sunday. The team will depart the country for Khartoum today ahead of the encounter.

Looking ahead to a successful outing, Amuneke said his boys were mentally focused and poised to give all they have to outshine their opponents away from home, adding that picking the U-20 African Championship ticket remains his target.

“Based on the performance of the boys in the friendlies, I think the team have all it takes to excel in Sudan. You should be aware that this is an away game, which we have to approach with high level of seriousness, ” he said.

The Flying Eagles, who had their last training session yesterday, will depart the country by 12.00 p.m. today aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight. The match against Sudan was earlier fixed for tomorrow, but has now been shifted to Sunday by the Sudanese Football Federation. It will hold by 8.00 p.m.
