AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles to hold first training Tuesday evening

The Super Eagles will hold their first training today (Tuesday) ahead of their Group D AFCON 2025 qualifiers against Libya.

This is according to the team’s media officer Promise Efoghe.

According to the media officer, the training, which will be open for coverage, will hold at 5pm inside the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Efoghe said on Wednesday, October 9, there will be a media parley with the Eagles players at Four Points hotel at Ikot Ekpene.

He added that on Thursday, October 10, there will be a press conference at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

The Super Eagles will host Libya on matchday 3 of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers in Uyo before traveling to Libya for the return leg which will hold on October 15 in Benghazi.

On matchday 1 the Super Eagles defeated Benin Republic 3-0 thanks to goals from Ademola Lookman, who bagged a brace, and a strike from Victor Osimhen.

In their second group game the Eagles held Rwanda to a 0-0 draw in Kigali.

On their part, Libya played a 1-1 draw at home to Rwanda and lost 2-1 to Benin Republic in Abidjan.

After two rounds of games played, the Super Eagles top Group D on four points while Libya are bottom with just one point.

Meanwhile, the other game in the group will see Rwanda take on Benin Republic also in a double header.
