Aluo explains rationale behind seminar for NNL coaches, media officers
Chairman of the Nigerian National League (NNL), George Aluo, has explained that the forthcoming seminar for coaches and media officers of clubs in the league is aimed at keeping the managers of the competition abreast of latest happenings in the two important departments of club football.
Nigerian football followers have praised the league body for enhancing the reputation of the league through remarkable improvements in the quality of the competition, a development, which, Aluo said, has moved the NNL board to continue to look for ways to bring the competition at par with the best of its like in other parts of the world.
The pre-season seminar for coaches and media officers is slated for the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne from October 28 to 31 with renowned coaches like former Super Eagles Assistant Coach Fatai Amoo, Alphonsus Dike, and Thiago Conde as resource persons.
Other resource persons lined up for the seminar are top media practitioners Tony Ubani, John Joshua Akanji, and Tobex Tobechukwu, among others. They are expected to tutor coaches and media officers on the latest developments in the game to upscale their knowledge and also improve the standard of the league.
Aluo said: “We are excited to organise a pre-season seminar for our coaches and media officers to prepare them for the 2024/2025 season.
“The NNL is totally committed to building on the gains of last season, which resulted in improved standard of play, good conduct of players and officials and fair officiating as observed by football enthusiasts across the country. We cannot settle for anything less going forward.”
He expressed gratitude to Valuejet Airlines for supporting the NNL to consolidate on making the League better.
“We have set a standard, which we will keep improving upon. The commendation we got last season is due to the cooperation of all stakeholders. The League will keep getting better when everyone contributes his own quota to the game.
“We are not there yet, but we have instilled some level of trust, sanity and integrity in our league. This is the beginning of better days ahead. We are grateful to Valuejet Airlines for lending us great support and we look forward for more collaboration as we prepare for the new season.”
