I have not withdrawn bid to buy Sheffield United, says Mmobuosi

United Kingdom-based Nigerian businessman and tech entrepreneur, Dozy Mmobuosi, has dismissed reports that he has withdrawn his bid to acquire English Club, Sheffield United.

United Kingdom-based Nigerian businessman and tech entrepreneur, Dozy Mmobuosi, has dismissed reports that he has withdrawn his bid to acquire English Club, Sheffield United.

The businessman made this disclosure via his verified Twitter handle.

According to Mmobuosi, “I wish to state categorically that I have not withdrawn my bid to acquire Sheffield United Football Club. Beyond the £8.85 million GBP paid to United World, I will continue to work with experts and professionals I hired to buy the club.

“Earlier today, I had positive and constructive conversations with the club’s chairman, Yusuf Giansiracusa and chief executive officer, Stephen Bettis and I will continue to do so.

“This is my commitment to the fans of Sheffield United and I look forward to reaching a positive outcome.”

Mmobousi also congratulated Sheffield United on their promotion back to the English Premier League.

The Blades secured promotion to the Premier League after beating West Bromwich Albion 2-0 at Bramall Lane on Wednesday.

Paul Heckingbottom’s team return to the top flight two years after their relegation to the Championship. The Blades spent two years in a row in the Premier League and despite finishing ninth on the table in 2019-20, they ended up coming in last the following year.

“A heartfelt toast to Sheffield United on your amazing promotion to the Premier League. The performance against West Brom is proof that dedication and hard work truly pay off. I look forward to witnessing your triumphs in the top flight,” Mmobousi tweeted.
