Financier of Nnewi-based Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has disclosed that he took over Gabros FC in line with the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria’s (TAN) objective of providing employment for Nigerian youths.

Ubah, who took over the club at the beginning of the 2014/2015 football season, says the decision was in line with TAN’s desire to go beyond the country’s political activities and set it up as an industrial park for the purpose of providing mass employment in the country.

Speaking after his club’s slim 1 -0 victory over visiting Sharks FC of Port Harcourt in an NFPL Week 10 match at the Gabros Stadium in Nnewi, Ubah assured that the club, which is currently in the top five position of the league, would strive to qualify to represent the country in a continental championship.

He also affirmed his continued support to the national teams, stressing that he would always offer his contributions to the development of Nigerian football.

“It is part of our global concept of bringing opportunities to Nigerian youths. I strongly believe that the opportunity came when the management of former Gabros FC made offer for the club to be taken over. For me it is part of our strategic plans and I am sure that the club has come to stay. We will ensure that we maintain a very good position on the league table that would help us actualize our dream of returning continental football to Anambra State,” he assured
