IMC confirms qualified teams for Super Six play-off

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has formally announced the six clubs that qualified for the NPFL Super Six play-off to determine the winner of the 2022/23 season and the country’s representatives in the two CAF Club competitions.

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has formally announced the six clubs that qualified for the NPFL Super Six play-off to determine the winner of the 2022/23 season and the country’s representatives in the two CAF Club competitions.

In a letter inviting the clubs for the play-off and intimating them with the calendar of events, Head of Operations of the Interim Management Committee (IMC), Davidson Owumi, congratulated the clubs for making the cut.

According to LMC, the six clubs are Bendel Insurance, Remo Stars and Enyimba International from Group A and Rivers United, Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars from Group B.

In the letter, Owumi wrote, “I offer you compliments on behalf of the board of the IMC of the NPFL and have the pleasure to congratulate your team on its qualification to participate in the 2022/2023 NPFL Championship Play-off.”

He confirmed the date for the play-off, which will hold at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena at the Onikan area of Lagos State.

In a statement, the IMC said: “The clubs were informed that the official arrival date in Lagos is June 1, while the draw and technical meeting to brief the clubs on the rules for the play-off will hold on June 2.

“The play-off, also dubbed the Super Six, is scheduled to hold from June 3 to
June 11, 2023.”
The IMC reiterated its resolve to organise a merit-based league that would produce worthy champions.
