General Manager of TalentLockr Africa, Isah Lawal-Saulawa, has urged athletes, managers, players, and scouts worldwide to embrace the opportunity presented by the Talentlockr app in their daily activities.
In an exclusive chat with TheGuardian at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, the venue of the three-day talent hunt program, Isah described Talentlockr’s initiative as the right step in the right direction considering the difficulties faced by athletes and scouts in getting the right connection with the outside world who needs their services.”
“Talentlokr is a sporting app that aims to bridge the gap between Athletes, managers, players, and scouts worldwide. It is more or less like LinkedIn for people who are into sports.
”All you need to do is upload your profile, bio, and most importantly video clip that the international community can see, and then you can be sure to get the right contact,”
”TalentLockr is not just about football, it’s for netball, mixed martial arts, footballers, and basketballers. It was initially centered on Rugby players but football being the most popular sport, we had to diversify,’ he said
Isah maintained that the era when athletes, players, and scouts wallow in limbo is over with the arrival of the TalentLockr app, which according to him will go a long way to reshape the face of sports management and branding worldwide.
Speaking on the recently concluded football scouting in Lagos, Isah described the turnout as successful, while assuring that selected players have a secured future under TalentLockr.
”We have partners around the world but this particular talent hunt is meant for partners in Dubai, We have done it for European clubs, and Asian partners. Selected players will be heading to UAE where they will be closely monitored and groomed into a finished product before moving to European clubs,” Isah revealed.
He stressed that the sports outfit embraces collegiate sports programmes to help young talents secure scholarships in their quest to combine education with sports
”I can assure you that their future is secure under TalentLockr because we have managed top sportsmen and women who are currently doing well in their respective sports. Most of these talents are quite young and in other to get the right balance, we have to go into collegiate programmes and help them get into universities in the United States.
”We ensure that feeding, accommodation, and players’ welfare are well taken care of. You know in Nigeria, player’s safety is key, we at TalentLockr ensure that players are well taken care of because only that can help them settle down well to business while they are abroad,” he concluded.
