United States-born Nigerian winger, Lucas Koleosho, scored his first-ever Premier League goal as Burnley thrashed 10-man Sheffield United 5-0 on Saturday.

It was Koleosho’s 14th Premier League appearance for struggling Burnley.

The 19-year-old scored in the 75th minute to put Burnley 4-0 ahead.

The win against Sheffield ended a run of seven straight defeats for Koleosho and his Burnley teammates.

Burnley are now in 18th position on seven points after 14 league games played so far.

Koleosho is eligible to represent the United States, Canada, Nigeria, and Italy, as he was born and raised in the US to a Nigerian father and an Italian-Canadian mother.

In June 2023, he was included in the Italian squad for the UEFA European U-19 Championship in Malta, where the Azzurrini eventually won their second continental title.

On 21 November 2023 he made his debut with the Italy U-21 team, in the qualifying match against Republic of Ireland.
