The top 32 male players from across the country have been listed for an invitational table tennis championship scheduled to hold at the Lagos Country Club on Sunday.

Among the players listed for the competition are Segun Ajetunmobi, Kazeem Makanjuola, National Sports Festival champion, Hammed Adeyinka and Gbenga Ajulo.

The one-day championship, sanctioned by the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), is meant to keep the players busy as well as to unearth more talents for the country.

The tournament is sponsored by Friends of Table Tennis and it is expected to hold monthly at same venue.

In a statement issued ahead of the championship, the organisers said the monthly tournament will afford Nigerian players opportunity to be match ready at all time and also give the NTTF the opportunity for talent discovery.

“It is hoped that other lovers of the game will take a cue from this and support the sport that has continued to regain its lost glory in the country,” the statement said.
