The leadership of the western zone of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies (NANTA) at the weekend took all its members to the gym for physical exercise and wellness talk as part of the body’s annual week celebrations in Ibadan.

The vice President South/West zone of the body Dr. Olatokunbo Dagunduro, who led other members during the exercise, said the nature of their business did not give them the opportunity to engage in regular exercises, which helps prevent or manage many health problems and concerns.

“We decided to include this as part of activities marking our week celebration this year because most of our members don’t create time for such and regular body-workout can also help improve cognitive function and helps lower the risk of death from all causes.

“A gym session or brisk walk can help. Physical activity stimulates various brain chemicals that may leave you feeling happier, more relaxed and less anxious.

“You may also feel better about your appearance and yourself when you exercise regularly, which can boost your confidence and improve your self-esteem,” Dagunduro said after the exercise at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Ibadan.

The body also made a visitation to the juvenile correctional institution and child care unit at Ijokodo Poly Road Ibadan, where they gave out clothing, shoes, bags, toys and other gift items to the kids, and thereafter held a dinner on Friday at the Jogor Centre, Ibadan.
