NFF’s inspection team satisfied with Uyo Stadium pitch

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), says its is satisfied with the condition of the pitch in Uyo Stadium for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria on November 12.

The five-man ‘s inspection team was headed by 1st Vice President of the federation, Seyi Akinwumi.

A member of the NFF Technical Committee, Paul Bassey said yesterday that the inspection of the pitch was carried on the account of Coach Gernot Rohr, who pointed out some areas that needed to be fixed after the crew hard their first visit.

He stated that any hiccup, which might hinder the performance of the Super Eagles in the crucial World Cup qualifier have been ‘removed.’

Bassey also noted that the Committee had given its nod to the list of invited players by the German-born tactician for the ‘operation Algeria must fall’ in Uyo.

He said: “NFF 1st Vice President Seyi Akinwumi lead a five-man committee to inspect some areas in Uyo Stadium pitch, which was pointed out by Rohr to be rectified. The inspection team came to Uyo and they where satisfied because the areas in question have been fixed.
The pitch is 100 percent ready to host the Super Eagles versus Algeria clash.

“On the part of the Technical Committees, we are backing the Super Eagles in every capacity to win the match,’’ he said.
