Nigeria Super Eagles Instagram hacked before 2022 FIFA World Cup draw
Nigeria’s Super Eagles Instagram account was hacked hours before their 2022 Qatar Fifa World Cup qualifiers draw.
The breach came as a shock to the three-time African champions who have over 230,000 followers on the social media platform.
Tuesday’s hack saw all of the Super Eagles’ content deleted and replaced with pictures from an unknown stylist and influencer based in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Nigeria Football Federation is yet to make a statement on the hacked account which later became invisible to searches on Instagram.
Only Super Eagles Twitter and Facebook accounts were used to update the team’s opponents in the African slot for the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers draw.
After the draw, Nigeria is in Group C alongside Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia.
The qualifiers begin in October 2020.
