Nigeria’s biggest golf export, Georgia Oboh, will this weekend feature in her first LPGA tournament in the United States, tagged the ‘Shoprite LPGA Classic presented by Acer.’

The tournament is scheduled to hold from today to June 12 at the  Seaview, A Dolce Hotel, Bay Course, Atlantic City, New Jersey, U.S..

According pundits, it promises to be fierce and thrilling given the quality of field that will be swinging in the course of par 71.

To be part of the Acer Classic, Oboh last weekend produced a stellar performance at the qualifier in same course, playing +2 over par 73, a shot behind first placed Vicky Hurst of U.S., who played +1 over par 72.

The Edo State-born lady professional and Ikoyi Club, Lagos Golf Course brought up, based in Manchester, United Kingdom, is the only Nigerian player on the card of the Ladies European Tour (LET). She is definitely expected to make emphatic impact in the event.

Oboh’s father, who is also her caddy, Geoffrey Oboh, said: “Georgia is in good spirit and will definitely prove her worth. She never leaves anything to chance without putting some spiritual supplications. I believe in praying to God in everything I do.”

All said and weighed, the Acer Classic will be a vista of many opportunities for Georgia Oboh in the LPGA, just as she won her first title – World Teens Championship – some eight years ago in U.S.
