Since his mid-season switch to Eunisell sponsored Rivers United, John Odumegwu has warmed his way into the heart of head coach, Stanley Eguma.

After a quiet first round at Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) log leaders, Plateau United, the strong and skillful forward has turned his season around with sublime displays for United.

Interestingly, Odumegwu’s contributions at United represents a turnaround for a player, who suffered the pains of relegation at Warri Wolves, last term.

“His presence is massive advantage for United. I was in Tunisia where he made his debut and watched him severally,” celebrated NPFL star, Victor Ezeji said.

A goal on his debut at Club Africain fast-tracked his integration into the squad and has remained in the match day squad in successive matches against Morocco’s FUS Rabat and Uganda’s KCCA, respectively.

Odumegwu looks good to make Sunday’s match day five squad in the reverse fixture against the Tunisians as United seek to boost their chances in Africa.

When he is not scoring, expect the strong forward to create chances for teammates.
