Olapade, Adebajo head Ogun 2024 National Sports Festival LOC
Solaja, Falilat also in 16-man committee
Ogun State government, yesterday, announced the appointment of a former Commissioner for Sports in the state, Bukola Olapade and Tilewa Adebajo of Stationery Stores fame as co-chairmen of the local organising committee (LOC) for the 2024 National Sports Festival (NSF) to be hosted by the state.
The LOC announced by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has 16 members, including veteran sports journalist, Kunle Solaja.
Unveiling the 16-man LOC in Abeokuta, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, in a statement, also listed as members of the committee the secretary-general of Edo 2020 NSF’s LOC, Dr. Emmanuel Igbinosa, ex-chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Dr. Kweku Tandoh and renowned sports psychologist and head of the Department of Sports and Exercise Medical Sciences at University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho, Ghana, Professor Oluwaseun Olanrewaju Omotayo.
Also in the committee are Vice Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Council, Dare Alebiosu, Falilat Ogunkoya, Olusegun Oyende, Olatunji Onatolu, Mrs. Modele Sharafa-Yusuf, Demola Are, Abiodun Jubril Elegbede and Ola Opedimeji Adisa.
The statement said that the LOC has been mandated to set up subcommittees, made up of various stakeholders to ensure a hitch-free exercise as well as deliver a sports festival that is second to none in the country.
