The premises of Ayedaade High School, Ikire, State of Osun came alive when it hosted the final of the Ayedaade-Irewole-Isokan Federal Constituency Football Competition sponsored by Ayo Omidiran, who is representing the Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The event attracted football fans and top politicians from the Federal Constituency, four members of Omoluabi Caucus in the House of Representatives and ex-international and Chairman, Osun Football Association, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi.

The grand finale started with the third place match between Orisunmibare Football Club, Ikire and Larry J Football Club of Isokan.

After the 90-minute proceeding, the scoreline stood at 3-3 and the game went into penalty shoot-out, which Larry JFC won 3-0.

The final game between Glamour Football Club of Ikire and Royal Football Club of Ikoyi was a keenly contested affair by both teams, but Royal FC of Ikoyi had the last laugh with just a lone goal.

While presenting the trophy to the winner, Omidiran said the essence of the championship was to cash on sports, which has been identified as one of the ways to reduce youth restiveness in the land.

The four teams in the final and outstanding players won cash and gift items.

“This is not a new thing. I always want to give back to the society and also love to engage youths through sports. I am really excited,” Omidiran said.
