Victor Osimhen will miss Napoli’s Serie A home game with AC Milan on Sunday due to injury.

Napoli disclosed this on their website on Friday.

Osimhen returned from international duty with the Super Eagles complaining of discomfort in his left abductor muscle.

A round of medical tests confirmed that he has suffered a distractive lesion and Napoli stated that his condition will be evaluated next week.

Aside from being ruled out of this weekend’s league game with Milan, Osimhen could miss Napoli’s Champions League quarter-final fixtures with the Rossoneri, billed for April 12 and 18.

The 24-year-old currently tops the Serie A scoring chart with 21 goals in 23 appearances.

Napoli are 19 points ahead of second-placed Lazio with 11 games left to play.

The last time Napoli won the Serie A title was in the 1989/1990 season and they would hope Osimhen will be back in time.
